Came on a Thursday and the vibe was insanely great and energetic! The group performing were absolutely amazing and fast! Staff was extremely friendly and the food was superlative. Honestly recommend coming here, I cant even imagine what its like on the weekends!

Such a great place to celebrate a birthday, they had flamenco night! The food was excellent, my family was happy!

Love this restaurant. Sometimes we go sit at the bar and have garlic shrimp, red sangria and bread, the bread is a must!!!! I dont think there is anything here that is not good. Everything is great! The meat is cooked to perfection, the seafood is delicious.

You will spend money! But it is money well spent if you are looking for a good meal. The meals will come with family style veggies, rice and delicious house made potato chips.

End your meal with a coffee drink and some amazing tiramisu.

The best twin stuffed lobster tails youll ever have, guaranteed. Whether youre at the Newark, or Pine Brook location both are spectacular. The sangria is always delicious. The Garlic shrimp appetizer is a must have. The bread is always fresh, and the desserts and cappuccinos are to die for. The waiters are always on point and friendly as well.

This was our first time to this Don Pepe location. Service and atmosphere were exactly what to expect for a Don Pepe, excellent. Our food was what we ordered. However, our two cuts of steak were cooked to the liking of the other steak as far a temperature is concerned. The flavor and taste were very good.

Don pepe II is under new management with a new menu. It's just ok, but the bread they serve before your meal is heavy on the garlic, if you love garlic bread you're good, or ask for it plain before they bring it out. The sangria is very week, tastes like fruit punch, stick with wine. The roasted chicken is the bomb, but be patient, it takes awhile to cook, but we'll worth it. Some of the favorite fare is still there.
Newbies will like it, seasoned customers, will adjust or bail. Just my opinion

Our first time there since it changed ownership. While they claim to have the same food and staff, that isn't true. The charming ambiance is gone. Natural wood is painted white. Menu is much smaller as are the portions. We will not be returning. Only our waiter and the sangria didn't disappoint us.

Everything about this restaurant was great. The waitstaff, the food, of course the portions and the restaurant itself. It was classy and cozy at the same time. I'll be back.

Love it. I came here several times with family and finally took a solo trip with my boyfriend. I don't know why we didn't think of adding this to the places we frequent, sooner. It is amazing food at a reasonable pricepoint. The paella is outstanding. Only paella better is my own. Their garlic shrimp and chorizo is on point. They also put our Sangria in a Tupperware at the end of our meal. Also, I'm allergic to gluten and dairy and there are a lot of things here that I could have just right off the menu. The atmosphere is also very nice and quiet and classy. Service was wonderful. I will keep coming back.

We were brought to a window seat overlooking a construction site nearby. We ordered drinks and then continued to look over the menu as it changed. The specials weren't very 'special' as it mostly boasted Lobsters of various sizes. I ordered Filet Mignon and my husband Surf and Turf. They both arrived as ordered medium rare with sides of yellow rice and their freshly made potato chips which we love. The dinner was delicious and filling, I ended up taking a big portion home for leftovers. My filet was enormous, I think it was one of the biggest I have ever had.

We overheard conversation about what the plans were for the two Don Pepe's in town and understood that the Original location will reopen as a steakhouse but Don Pepe II is to become a Rumba Cubana's restaurant.

Very nice place to enjoy with family and friends. Delicious food and good service.

I absolutely enjoyed my first experience and definitely wont be my last going to this restaurant. The food is delicious but the service was wonderful. The host/waiter during lunch time was absolutely accommodating and made sure we were well taken care of. I had the branzino which would usually be baked but I requested it to be grilled which they accommodated me was delightful. The branzino was a large piece compared to other restaurants and at such a great price. The restaurant had a warm atmosphere and felt homey if that makes sense. I recommend this restaurant. Two thumbs up.

Always great food been to the Newark one numerous times! This is equal quality. Staff was extremely courteous and helpful. I had the paella Valencia. My wife had the surf and turf. She said the filet was cooked to perfection and very tasty. My father had a 2lb lobster which at 78 he devoured. We had the calamari for an appetizer and it was cooked to perfection !! I will be coming back for my anniversary I have to try the white Sangria, the red was very good!

Have been going to Don Pepes in Newark for over 20 years. Was in Morristown, so rather then travel to Newark, went to Don Pepes 2 in Pinebrook. Went to the bar prior to eating. Bartender Eli looked like he hadnt slept in a week. Shirt was dirty with stains. Asked how the food compared to Don Pepes in Newark. Eli stated menu wasnt as large and seafood menu wasnt as extensive. Said a few other negative comments. Had enough of his negative attitude, got seated. Waiter Tony saved the day! Opposite of Eli. Food was fantastic and service was great. Would have given 5 stars except for Eli. How does the management not know of is miserable attitude.

Never disappointed when eating here. I ordered the kids chicken tenders which were so light & not greasy. We ordered the surf & turf & 3 lobster dinners. Also a pasta with shrimp & clams. A dessert was brought out for my cousin & they sang happy birthday. A great dinner. I think my only complaint would be a perfectly cooked medium rare steak with no seasoning. It had no flavor. Everything else was up to standard. I will continue to eat here & suggest them to others.

First time ordering a takeout at the restaurant and got my mind blown away! A seafood festival!! Plus sausage and chicken. So much meat and this can feed 3 people.

Been going here for years and made plenty of memories with family, they offer a large back room for bigger gathering and very friendly staff.

I tried this spot in the past with a friend and I am obsessed since then. I liked the awesome mood and delicious dishes and drinks. Great work.

Very good. We got a bunch of appetizers. The garlic shrimp and the scallops were great. The octopus was delicious, but gritty.
I'd definitely eat here again.

My wife's $40 steak was over cooked, the waiter was kind of dushy about it. To bad everything else was great.

Yum tons of food

We arrived a little bit before the dinner rush. They were able to seat us without a reservation. The atmosphere is wonderful. Staff is friendly and courteous. Food is delicious and you must pair it with their sangria. I have eaten there numerous times and they have never disappointed.

Great food, great service, what more can you want! We had a retirement dinner there and we had an amazing meal and were treated really well. I highly recommend Don Pepe II!

They have both indoor and outdoor dining with social distancing. Windows inside are open for extra ventilation. No hand sanitizer required upon entry or check of temperature as we have experienced in other places. They still hand out menus and specials on a paper; they may want to consider changing this to QR code or ask patrons to view menu on their phone via website. Free crusty warmed bread with butter packets is good for dipping in sauces. When dining in, we try to order what we can finish to reduce the need of take home containers. We shared a pitcher of red sangria, an appetizer, an entree, a dessert and two liqueur coffees for a little over $100. Service wore masks and were attentive. Four generous crab cakes came with tarter sauce. Mariscada Don Pepe was a red sauce with a half of a lobster (no claw), scallops, shrimp, a few calamari rings, small mussels and clams came with side of yellow rice with some red roasted peppers and peas and crispy potatoe slices (always a favorite) the waiter offered more rice and potatoes but there was plenty for us. Tiramisu was excellent! Hot liqueur coffees had a lot of whipped cream had a soda plastic straw which seemed a little odd. Overall a pleasant experience.

Ate here outside with my grandmother. We really enjoyed the food! The staff was very nice as well. The only negative is the outdoor setup is in a driveway. There isnt much of an ambiance but I understand thats due to COVID

For years and never have I been spoken to like that before.
My dinner was served on the cool side that night New year's Eve but understandable they were very busy with a lot of takeout orders.
The waiter resolve the problem and my meal was reserved at the correct temperature . The food is always at the highest quality there from appetizers to desserts and they're sangria right or white is second to none.

The food is phenomenal, and the service is expedient. My experience was so good that my fianc and I booked our rehearsal dinner for our wedding here as they have an expansive back room and a great selection of menus to choose from.

Just a fair warning, the portions are GENEROUS. It would be easy to get two meals out of one entree. I had a steak and my fianc had Paella. If you like sangria, this is the place to get it as it complements the food well.

Another extremely high quality meal. From walking in the door to reluctantly leaving after a fabulous meal, I am totally satisfied. Appetizer special and World class paella.

I love the seafood paella that this place makes. A pitcher of sangria for the table makes this a great place to go with groups of four or more, lobster is out of this worls. Some dishes can be salty, ask first.

Must order the sangria. Food is good portions, perfect for trying something new. Prices are good. Seafood is wonderful. Fun for the entire family. We enjoy the lunch menu.
